About this Journal
This journal was started with the intention of, well, journaling. But when that failed, I decided to just put random thoughts here at random times...I may have 6 entries in one day and then none for 6 months. I make no promises, no commitments, no nothing. Its just me, take it or leave it.

Jun. 12th, 2006 @ 10:26 pm Karen is (revisited)
Long time subscribers of my rambling lj may remember the very first (maybe second?) entry wherein I made a list of results that popped up when I put "Karen is" into google. Well, I got bored online today, so here is the updated, revised, and brand-spanking-new Karen is list.

*Karen is also not exactly heterosexual.

*Karen is described as emaciated, having suffered a weight loss of at least 40 pounds.

*Karen is doing well, although she's slowing down quite a bit now because the new baby is due in three or four weeks.

*Karen is pulled into the cycle of horror.

*Karen is now a hot-shot attorney.

* Phone sex: Karen makes it cheap and so very yummy. (I know thats not a "karen is" but i thought it was funny, and it was a part of my results)

*Karen is mostly popular for her one-liners and zingers.

*Karen is an experienced tutor in both fiddle and step dance.

*Karen is understandably enraged when Robert is released.

And last but certainly not least:
*Karen is dating a fisherman (guest Patrick Dempsey) who turns out to be a bank robber.

And now you know everything that Karen is. Thanks for coming! Love you all :-*

Jun. 12th, 2006 @ 02:03 pm Okay, so...
I should probably explain the previous entry. It was a piece I wrote my freshman year of high school in the section of my assignment book titled "project notes" to entertain my friend David and myself during our free period. Anyway, I was cleaning out some stuff and found it and needed to share. Hope you enjoyed it. (I was a weird kid.)

Day 29-Going insane. Fear that I will never see the glorious light of day. So cold, so very cold. Johnson hasn't returned from his expedition. Fear he never will. He is a victim of this godforsaken rock. What is that sound? Have I gone mad? It sounds like the tramping of feet. I will go look...No one. I've been here so long. Tomorrow I shall go and look for Johnson. If I find him, I will eat him. If not, I'll just have soup. Good bye for now.

Day 30-Couldn't find Johnson. Soup was good.

What up ya'll?!

I had an amazing time visiting in Indy. I got to see a ton of people whom I really wanted to see and made myself a piggy bank and got hit on by the sprint kiosk man (hilarious!) and watched a Jump 5 music video (even more hilarious!). Seeing the Butler gang, though, just makes me want the school year to start even more. (I miss you guys so much!) But of course, the rest of the summer is absolutely going to fly by, so I better enjoy it while I can.

Anyway, i spent the weekend at mom's having a really super fun shopping spree. I got a bunch of new summery clothes that I can't wait to wear. I had one of the best bathing suit shopping experiences ever. (Like I told mom, when the reason suits don't fit is because of my huge rack and not because of my hips, that's a good day.) But, yeah, I had a really good time with mommy, as expected, so woot to that.

Drove back from the Fort today and got lost again...that makes three out of three times that I've gotten lost trying to do this stupid detour away from the construction on 94. Luckily I'm not the panicking type and I don't mind being lost in the city because I can always just follow the numbers north and west until i get to where I know where I am. Still, took longer that it should have and that's lame. Next time, I'll have it. I swear!

Now, I've got just enough time to get my laundry done and pack again before it's off to Syracuse for the family reunion....can't wait to see everyone!

That's it for now. All my love,
Captain K

Jun. 3rd, 2006 @ 09:44 pm Worst drive home ever....
Current Mood: pissed off
Okay, so the last two days, I've had to get up early to take my car in to the mechanic (Once for a routine matenance and again to have the brakes replaced) which meant going in early to work and getting home late (since I didnt have a car until the dealership was done with it. SO today I take it to go have dinner with emmet and it starts making a weird noise that only gets worse and by the time I get home (going about 20mph the whole way), it was making this noise almost constantly. So now I have to take it back to the stupid mechanic, but of course, tomorrow is Sunday so i can't do it then. Which means that I won't be able to drive down to Indy on monday b/c my car will be in the shop. Great. (btw, Michelle, if you read this before I call you tomorrow, don't think i wasn't going to call and tell you because I will be doing that first thing in the morning tomorrow.) So now, not only is my car busted but my visit to indy is cut shorter because of it. So basically, I'm not a happy camper because of it.

Btw, assuming the car gets fixed Monday, I will be coming down to Indy on Tuesday (monday night?) and staying until Friday. If you're in town, give me a call and we'll totally hang out.

-K

I have nothing to say, but I've really enjoyed wasting everyone's time. HA!

...alright, I'm done now.

Oh, wait, I do want to say that I love my friends. Especially when all I have to do is put up an away message about which oc character I feel like I've become and they all know exactly what emotions I'm feeling. (Thanks for rocking my socks off, guys.) :D

On the exciting news front: I totally bought myself a book today. Not that I need another book when I have something like 40 waiting to be read. But what can I say? I have an addiction. (Dont judge me!!!)

So all I wanted to do today was waste my hours away watching season one of the OC. And I more or less accomplished that. Except that I just finished disc two and I flipped to disc three. And (get this) it's disc two again. There is no disc three! They just gave me two disc twos!!!

I swear to god...I have been productive almost every day this week and now on my unproductive day, this happens. I just--well--i dont know if i can go on. I'm actually going to have to do something with my life now. This is an outrage! And I am going to put a curse on Fox DVD...

So I was reading today about the new species of dinosaur that was named after Harry Potter (Dracorex hogwartsia) (which, btw, is at the Indy Children's museum...so i'm thinking: field trip?) Anyway, that got to reading up on Pachycephalosauria (the family it belongs to) and now i really want to watch Jurassic Park. Lol...probably not best conclusion that learning has ever brought me to, but here I am.

Also, totally random fact: I am obsessed with listening to the Barenaked Ladies right now.

Alright, I'm out, yo. I gots to go get passport photos.

May. 16th, 2006 @ 01:41 pm Let's all pause for a moment to say goodbye to sophmore year...

...and to say "so long crappiest year ever! Don't let the door hit you on the ass as you leave! (Cause I don't want ass-prints on my door!)"

Of course, I am by no means saying that everything about the last, oh, ten months or so sucked. In fact, I met a lot of really awesome people this year and got started on several paths that make me very happy. Actually, i have this weird thing where i feel like first semester was freshman year and second semester was sophmore year. Actual freshman year seems to have been sucked into some sort of black hole. I'm not sure why that is.

Anyway, I'm going to call it the pivotal episode of my life. Something like the second installment in the trilogy of my world. You know, Luke found out that Vader is his father, but after tons of struggle has finally learned to control the force, Leia totally got some action, and while Han Solo is frozen in carbonite, you know he's not going to die cause he's an effin' cool space pirate. So everything is changing/ has changed but it's a good thing cause we're all a little wiser for it and know that we can defeat Jabba the Hutt and the Empire.

...Good thing i'm not a nerd or anything. I was actually going to compare sophmore year to HP and the Goblet of Fire (Totally pivotal)but things get worse for harry and that's not where I'm going with this.

Alright, I'm starting to get a little long-winded so i'll summarize in saying: I'm back, I'm happy (though i still miss butler like crazy and can't wait for jr. year to start), and I feel live I've finally found myself a nice niche. (that was some sweet alliteration!) Alright, i'm leaving before i talk any more.
i love you all.

That location feature is really kind of freaky. Like I'm going to put my address or something so stalkers can come stalk me more efficiently (with maps and everything). So don't get confused and try to use that mapquest feature to find out where room 5 is, because you will get lost. (Not that mapquest wouldn't get you lost even if it were a mapable place.)

So I was thinking, I really need to step up my entry making. I mean, I am slacking off!

In that vein, I have to say that I think pop-tarts may be the greatest invention ever. I'm not sure, however, whether they were invented by Satan or as a gift from Heaven. I mean, one could make arguements in either direction. Of course, be they manna from heaven or toasted in hell's own flames, I just can't say no.

Anyway, I have to go shopping now (again) because i was stupid yesterday and messed up in my buying. Let's just hope dollar tree will do me right today.

Feb. 25th, 2006 @ 02:47 pm Tequila: just say no.
Man, I've got so much going on right now, I can't even handle it. Anyway, I'm sitting here in my pjs waiting for Alicia to come pick me up so I can get my car from her house (I left it there last night, along with my purse) and then I get to start my shopping extravaganza. (That phrase hurts me, right in the wallet). Of course, I'll be reimbursed for most everything that I have to get, but still! Planning initiation and numerous other pi phi events is no small drain. Plus taking a little and whatnot, I've spent way more money lately that anyone should. So now I'm trying to be frugal and it's very hard.

Anyway, I'm having some trouble handling how fast the semester is blowing past. I mean, two weeks til spring break!? wtf?! Of couse the last few weeks before spring break are always a biotch. So I've got so much to do, I can't even think about it. Like Dianne and I were saying the other day, sometimes you look at all the stuff you've done and you're like "wow, I am good!"

And I am. Sorta. Anyway, I've got lots to do. Spring break: so close!

Well, all things considered, I've had a pretty good Valentine's Day. I started out my morning with an awesome email from matty, which just made my day. It pretty much gave my whole day a lift and I went to costume class/work feeling very cheerful.

In costume class, we learned about fabric and got to burn things. (b/c you can tell types of fabric by the way they burn, which is cool!) And we learned that polyester is made from the same stuff that petroleum is made from, prompting Sarah to say the quote that made both my away message and the subject line of this entry.

I got a temporary tattoo valentine from Snidey which cracked me up cause I am totally a "Chopper Club" kind of woman...

I had dinner with Libby, which rocked my socks off. We went shopping just like the old days: her, me, and Kevin Way.

Then I had steak and shake with a bunch of pi phis. There were about 20 of us and they locked the doors after us so that they could clean up after us. (Not that we really made that huge of a mess!)

Anyway, now I'm listening to the taming of the shrew soundtrack, which pretty much kicks ass! And putting off reading jane eyre. (So I'll be 70 pages behind again...whatever!)

Tomorrow, i bring home my fish!
