Long time subscribers of my rambling lj may remember the very first (maybe second?) entry wherein I made a list of results that popped up when I put "Karen is" into google. Well, I got bored online today, so here is the updated, revised, and brand-spanking-new Karen is list.

*Karen is also not exactly heterosexual.

*Karen is described as emaciated, having suffered a weight loss of at least 40 pounds.

*Karen is doing well, although she's slowing down quite a bit now because the new baby is due in three or four weeks.

*Karen is pulled into the cycle of horror.

*Karen is now a hot-shot attorney.

* Phone sex: Karen makes it cheap and so very yummy. (I know thats not a "karen is" but i thought it was funny, and it was a part of my results)

*Karen is mostly popular for her one-liners and zingers.

*Karen is an experienced tutor in both fiddle and step dance.

*Karen is understandably enraged when Robert is released.

And last but certainly not least:
*Karen is dating a fisherman (guest Patrick Dempsey) who turns out to be a bank robber.

And now you know everything that Karen is. Thanks for coming! Love you all :-*

What up ya'll?!

I had an amazing time visiting in Indy. I got to see a ton of people whom I really wanted to see and made myself a piggy bank and got hit on by the sprint kiosk man (hilarious!) and watched a Jump 5 music video (even more hilarious!). Seeing the Butler gang, though, just makes me want the school year to start even more. (I miss you guys so much!) But of course, the rest of the summer is absolutely going to fly by, so I better enjoy it while I can.

Anyway, i spent the weekend at mom's having a really super fun shopping spree. I got a bunch of new summery clothes that I can't wait to wear. I had one of the best bathing suit shopping experiences ever. (Like I told mom, when the reason suits don't fit is because of my huge rack and not because of my hips, that's a good day.) But, yeah, I had a really good time with mommy, as expected, so woot to that.

Drove back from the Fort today and got lost again...that makes three out of three times that I've gotten lost trying to do this stupid detour away from the construction on 94. Luckily I'm not the panicking type and I don't mind being lost in the city because I can always just follow the numbers north and west until i get to where I know where I am. Still, took longer that it should have and that's lame. Next time, I'll have it. I swear!

Now, I've got just enough time to get my laundry done and pack again before it's off to Syracuse for the family reunion....can't wait to see everyone!

That's it for now.
Worst drive home ever....

Okay, so the last two days, I've had to get up early to take my car in to the mechanic (Once for a routine matenance and again to have the brakes replaced) which meant going in early to work and getting home late (since I didnt have a car until the dealership was done with it. SO today I take it to go have dinner with emmet and it starts making a weird noise that only gets worse and by the time I get home (going about 20mph the whole way), it was making this noise almost constantly. So now I have to take it back to the stupid mechanic, but of course, tomorrow is Sunday so i can't do it then. Which means that I won't be able to drive down to Indy on monday b/c my car will be in the shop. Great. (btw, Michelle, if you read this before I call you tomorrow, don't think i wasn't going to call and tell you because I will be doing that first thing in the morning tomorrow.) So now, not only is my car busted but my visit to indy is cut shorter because of it. So basically, I'm not a happy camper because of it.

Btw, assuming the car gets fixed Monday, I will be coming down to Indy on Tuesday (monday night?) and staying until Friday. If you're in town, give me a call and we'll totally hang out.

-K

...and to say "so long crappiest year ever! Don't let the door hit you on the ass as you leave! (Cause I don't want ass-prints on my door!)"

Of course, I am by no means saying that everything about the last, oh, ten months or so sucked. In fact, I met a lot of really awesome people this year and got started on several paths that make me very happy. Actually, i have this weird thing where i feel like first semester was freshman year and second semester was sophmore year. Actual freshman year seems to have been sucked into some sort of black hole. I'm not sure why that is.

Anyway, I'm going to call it the pivotal episode of my life. Something like the second installment in the trilogy of my world. You know, Luke found out that Vader is his father, but after tons of struggle has finally learned to control the force, Leia totally got some action, and while Han Solo is frozen in carbonite, you know he's not going to die cause he's an effin' cool space pirate. So everything is changing/ has changed but it's a good thing cause we're all a little wiser for it and know that we can defeat Jabba the Hutt and the Empire.

...Good thing i'm not a nerd or anything. I was actually going to compare sophmore year to HP and the Goblet of Fire (Totally pivotal)but things get worse for harry and that's not where I'm going with this.

Alright, I'm starting to get a little long-winded so i'll summarize in saying: I'm back, I'm happy (though i still miss butler like crazy and can't wait for jr. year to start), and I feel live I've finally found myself a nice niche. (that was some sweet alliteration!) Alright, i'm leaving before i talk any more.
i love you all.

Well, all things considered, I've had a pretty good Valentine's Day. I started out my morning with an awesome email from matty, which just made my day. It pretty much gave my whole day a lift and I went to costume class/work feeling very cheerful.

In costume class, we learned about fabric and got to burn things. (b/c you can tell types of fabric by the way they burn, which is cool!) And we learned that polyester is made from the same stuff that petroleum is made from, prompting Sarah to say the quote that made both my away message and the subject line of this entry.

I got a temporary tattoo valentine from Snidey which cracked me up cause I am totally a "Chopper Club" kind of woman...

I had dinner with Libby, which rocked my socks off. We went shopping just like the old days: her, me, and Kevin Way.

Then I had steak and shake with a bunch of pi phis. There were about 20 of us and they locked the doors after us so that they could clean up after us. (Not that we really made that huge of a mess!)

Anyway, now I'm listening to the taming of the shrew soundtrack, which pretty much kicks ass! And putting off reading jane eyre. (So I'll be 70 pages behind again...whatever!)

Tomorrow, i bring home my fish!

So i find myself sitting here putting off a paper on the significance of the line "You don't know about me..." in Huck Finn, and I find myself reluctant to begin. Not because I don't understand that these words are all about questioning authority and manifesting Huck's own lack of self-esteem because of his abusive upbringing, but because I just can't seem to focus. Perhaps some form of adult ADD. More likely, I'm just feeling pretty burnt out after a ridiculous week. Yes, I did cry because of a Dr. Pepper. Yes, I did email the sophmore listserv a chuck norris fact. Sure, I took facebook stalking to another level. I'm pretty much spent. It should be spring break judging by my exhaustion but it ain't. Soon. Well, soonish.

In other news, I took Avery to John's finally. (It was probably for the best, b/c i was going to kill that hamster after he chewed up my sweatpants) but I still miss him. I am, however, going to be getting some guppies from work. They are handsome fellows. I'm still working on names. I'm naming one Huck and the other I'm not sure of yet. (I considered Finn. But I thought that was too English nerd of me.) Anyway, I got a tank and stuff today and I'll be getting the boys, Huck and brother, next week sometime. I don't know what it is about the theater department and giving away pets, but seriously...

Anyway, I guess I should get down to this paper and do my C&T reading (woot, Turgenev) and eat my teddy grahams before my exec meeting.
So long and thanks for all the fish!
...but I really would hate to disappoint my fans by going another three months without posting again. Anyway, sooooo....let's see. Well, you should all (especially John) be very proud of me becuase I repaired my Ipod tonight. All by my self. It wouldn't turn on or charge or anything but I totally fixed it by myself (and with the help of the apple website) but i'm still proud of myself.

I ran to starbucks earlier to stock up on caffeine to do homework, but as you can see, I'm not really getting anything important done. I do love running into people I know around campus. It makes me feel so special to mingle and schmooze and have people be excited to see me. It's one of those crazy "no-one-likes-me" complexes.

Anyway, new semester is going well. I guess I never posted my schedule:

C&T 2
British Lit. 2
American Lit. 2
Creative Writing: The essay
Costume technologies

Anyway, all of my profs are really kickass and the classes, though heavy on the reading and workload, are looking like they're going to be a lot of fun.

So guess what, Brandan just won an ipod nano with a raffle ticket that I got him. I guess I should have stayed for the end of the raffle. Oh well, he's promised to buy me dinner and that's good enough I guess since I already have an ipod.

Apparently, my last entry was the most unkarenlike thing I've ever said. Of course, i would like to point out that if i've said it, it's probably Karen-like.

Anyway, the point is, I intended to put something more karen-like out there but when I got here, I realized i dont know how to be karen-like. It just sort of happens. So here you go:

I've been gone so long that LJ has a gift shop. I ask you, what kind of tool would buy lj merchandise? And I answer myself: the same kind that has an lj in the first place. (Zing!)
